Here at MotorWorld Hyundai, we've noticed some big changes to the car market in recent years. Once niche vehicles, electric and hybrid cars have taken off with more drivers. At the same time, many people have been opting for larger vehicles and SUVs like the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport. Now Hyundai is getting ready to give drivers the best of both worlds. The recently revealed FE Fuel Cell Concept is a preview of a new production SUV that will be powered by hydrogen.

Hyundai has big plans for the green car market. More than a dozen new environmentally-friendly models could arrive in showrooms by the end of the decade, but the FE Fuel Cell Concept is truly unique. Hydrogen-powered vehicles are still pretty new, but this concept uses the latest technological advances to travel around 500 miles between refueling sessions. Some drivers suffer from range anxiety when it comes to alternative-fuel vehicles, but it looks like that may soon be a thing of the past. The fuel cell technology is also lighter and more efficient than before.

This concept is equipped with portable battery packs that are charged by the vehicle and can be used to power electronic devices. It even offers a charging space for an electric scooter. Inside the FE Fuel Cell Concept you'll find three screens. One is for the infotainment system, one can mirror the screen of your smartphone, and one replaces the information panels found in most vehicles. These features could all make their way to the Hyundai brand's hydrogen-powered SUV next year, along with Hyundai Smart Sense driver assistance technologies.
